A drunken 20-year-old was talked to safety after threatening to throw himself onto the main Ormskirk - Preston railway line yesterday.
The emergency services were called to Chapel Lane yesterday morning after reports that a stupified man had walked into the local Post Office saying how he'd been thrown out of the family home and then by his girlfriend.
"He was clearly very intoxicated," said a witness.
"He stumbled out the shop and said he was going to hang off the railway bridge," she added.
The situation worsened when two friends who came to speak to him were arrested for breach of the peace after an incident with the Police.
QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall clocked three police vehicles there in total - with one having to park on double yellows outside the PO - along with an ambulance. The drama ended mid morning.
