Over 100 visitors attended the Apprenticeship Event hosted by West Lancashire College on 7 February, to promote the latest Apprenticeship opportunities.
Employers and members of the public were invited along to discover the benefits that an Apprenticeship can bring to business.
They are available to anyone over the age of 16 years and are one of the key ways an employer can attract new talent, re-skill existing staff and overcome strategic skills shortages, develop a skilled and accredited workforce, generate increased sales and improve customer service levels.
Sara Gaskell, Head of Business Solutions at West Lancashire College commented: “There has never been a better time for employers to take on an Apprentice with the Government offering two fantastic incentives to support wages subsidies. Due to be launched in April these incentives start by offering employers a payment of £1,500.”
Current Apprenticeship vacancies available at the college are Business Administration, Customer Service, Hairdressing, Service & Mechanical Engineer, Teaching Assistant and Childminding. Also available Access to Apprenticeship in Child Care, Hairdressing and Business Administration, all great opportunities offer a stepping stone to get young people onto the career ladder and for employers who have the opportunity to bring new skills to the business.
