Popped down to Martin Mere last week just before it was invaded by the BBC to give me new camera a work, pretty happy with it!!

Lovely photos, the second one I really like!

You beat me to it, I want to know also what camera have you got - fantastic photoes.

That question always makes me wonder if people think having a good camera means they'll magically be able to take good photos! Buying a prestige car won't magically make you a good driver.

There's a lot of skill involved in getting shots like these, and that's something that has to be learned.

It'll only help in as much as having more advanced features gives the photographer more options, but you need to learn how the use of those features will affect the end result for them to be of any help. A good camera won't make anyone a better photographer - unless having paid a lot of money on it encourages them to learn photography. If you know about photography, you can get great photos from a much cheaper camera.

Lovely pics. I have been trying to get up to Martin Mere for a couple of months now. Weather and other commitments have prevented me from getting there.

Yes you do have to know a little about photography to take better pictures with a more expensive camera. However, if you know a little about things like depty of field/focal lengths and appature/shutter speed priorities, then a camera that allows you to adjust these things does help you take better pictures than your point and shoot camera will.

Going by those pictures, you seem to be seriously talented at photography. It's something I'd quite like to take up sometime in the future, but I'm afraid I think I lack the patience!
